Orientations & Training

Have you found yourself thinking...

  • How can I find relevant research publications faster?
  • How can I search for a specific journal?
  • There are so many databases, which one should I search?
  • Is there a way to save these articles so that I can quickly cite them in my paper later?
  • I am working remotely and I am not sure how to search this database.
  • I'm considering a research project, can the Library help me get started?
  • How do I...?

Contact the library for an orientation or training workshop today.

Librarians provide orientations for groups, in-person or virtually via Zoom or Skype video conference. This includes the New Employee Orientation (NEO), Nursing Orientation, Medical Oncology Orientation, Volunteers Orientation, and more.

We also offer one-on-one and small group orientations and can help staff, fellows, and grad students set up personalized services to assist their roles within BC Cancer.

The BC Cancer library system consists of a central library at Vancouver Centre (VC), and branches in Abbotsford (AC), Kelowna (SAHCSI), Prince George (CN), Surrey (FVC), and Victoria (VIC). All centres have patient resource collections in our Cancer Information Centres (CIC), and all centres have a professional collection on site. Professional resources for CN are housed in the adjacent UHNBC Library.
