 Canadian Indigenous Nurses Association

The Canadian Indigenous Nurses Association works to improve the health of Indigenous Peoples, by supporting Indigenous Nurses and by promoting the development and practice of Indigenous Health Nursing.

The First Nations Health Authority is responsible for planning, designing, managing and funding the delivery of First Nations health programs across British Columbia.

First Nations Health Council

The First Nations Health Council is a provincial-level political and advocacy organization that is representative and accountable to BC First Nations in areas including regional health planning and administration as well as health design, delivery and accountability to reflect the service delivery needs of First Nations.

The Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada supports First Nations, Inuit, and Métis youth wishing to become medical doctors, to support those already in training or practice, and to promote the work of its members in their many capacities and disciplines. The Association also supports Indigenous health initiatives at community and university levels and wishes to promote health for all Indigenous peoples, mentally, physically, intellectually, and emotionally.

Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami works to improve the health and wellbeing of Inuit in Canada through research, advocacy, public outreach and education.

National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health

The National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health is a national Indigenous organization that supports First Nations, Inuit, and Métis public health renewal and health equity through knowledge translation and exchange. The NCCIH is hosted by the University of Northern BC (UNBC) in Prince George, BC.

Located in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, the Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society's purpose is to improve and promote the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of individuals, particularly focusing on the urban Indigenous community of Greater Vancouver.



 The BC Cancer library system consists of a central library at Vancouver Centre (VC), and branches in Abbotsford (AC), Kelowna (SAHCSI), Prince George (CN), Surrey (FVC), and Victoria (VIC). All centres have patient resource collections in our Cancer Information Centres (CIC), and all centres have a professional collection on site. Professional resources for CN are housed in the adjacent UHNBC Library.
